I'm new to the area and looking for programs or activities that a 3 y/o child can participate in independent of pre-school.

We're aware of local library programs, swimming lessons, Abrakadoodle and Hot Shots Gym, which are all wonderful.

Any other suggestions around Mineola?

Thanks!

Long Island Children's Museum.

I spent a lot of time at the park when my kids were in pre-school.

How about a music class? Not Just Art holds a music together class at the Garden City Community Church; Music for Aardvarks holds classes in Westbury and Roslyn; and there is a Gymboree which has music, art, and Gym at the source mall. In Manhasset there is KinderMusik at the Music Institue of Long Island.

On Jericho Turnpike is a place called Thinker Tots which has toddler classes. There is also Learn and Grow at Progressive Gymnastics East that has a bunch of interesting classes.

Also, you can start on a second language at the Language workshop for Children in Manhasset.

And try soccer tots long island for a variety of indoor sports geared for toddlers (soccer, basketball. Lacrosse, and baseball) the closest to you is probably Island Garden in West Hempstead.

Oh and Hofstra has classes for children and parents in Saturday mornings mostly early literacy for 3 year olds but they get more interesting for older kids.
