If you already have a gas line in your house for cooking and such, do you need to get a permit from the town to change from oil to a gas boiler for heating? What is the best way to expedite this process (is there anything we can do /any calls that should be made before we move in?)
probably but I doubt most people do. It should not be a problem - who is ever going to know?
When they go to sell the house they will need to provide the paperwork for the new boiler. If they don't have it now, they'll have to get it later... In my opinion, its not worth trying to mess around with that. If it was putting up walls in the basement or something along those lines, i say, yeah go ahead and do it without the permits and such. But replacing a boiler and plumbing it into existing lines needs to be by a certified plumber with the correct paperwork for your town.
How long does the process of getting a permit for this usually take? We will probably move in the first week of Nov, so would like to do the switch right away, before the winter comes.
