Anyone know where you'd park if you want to go to the Statue of Liberty? I'm asking because when my mother in law comes to visit us she wants to go to the Statue of Liberty and I found this Groupon for a parking garage in NYC for different locations. We want to get it but are not sure if the locations listed would be good for going to the SoL.

Those are the locations we could use the Groupon at. If anyone knows off hand if any of them are close to the SoL I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

i bought that groupon last time it was going and it was a bum deal! the attendants had no idea what to do with it and after much insistance and calling of managers, they ended up taking it for face value printed. super annoying. just proceed with caution.

Park?? Unless you are going to take the ferry from the Jersey side, just take the RR to Penn and then the 1 train to South Ferry.

Better than trying to find parking downtown (or paying for it)

I'd rather look for parking lol but I have a monthly now so I feel obligated to take the train everytime I go the city for leisure even though I'd rather drive. (I hate the LIRR but I also don't like being on someone else's schedule).

It's cheaper to drive if one person has the burden of paying for everyone. My Mother In Law is paying for everything as a birthday gift to her son and since I just lost my job she is paying for mine as well. We'd already have my car since I'm picking her up at Laguardia airport and I'm not going to leave it at the airport and pay the parking for that because I'm sure it'd be more than $16 dollars which is how much the groupon is for. Even if we were leaving from my house in Levittown it would be 11.50 each way per person so it comes out to almost 70 dollars just to get there and back. Even if we go during off-peak hours it would still be expensive for her at $50 for all of us.

Well the $16 parking is hard to beat but you'll be sitting in traffic for sure on most weekdays trying to get in/out of Manhattan. If you are so inclined to drive, the statue ferries leave from battery park and tickets are bought at Castle Clinton in Battery Park.

We bought the tickets online so we won't have to worry about that
