I suspect that's what the Stop and Shop employee was referring to. And it makes sense.
If I were the Waldbaums parent company, I'd let the location close, take a few months to totally renovate it and reopen it as an A&P. I bet a lot of people don't know/forgot they're the same company and would flock to this "new" store.
You are right my bad...after thinking about it , I do think she meant Patchogue Waldbaums. I wonder if the one in Babylon is closing too? Thta's right off the Sunrise service road by Cafe Gio.
You kidding? that one makes the Shirley Pathmark look like a five star establishment.
The Patchogue Pathmark seems to be the best of the lot out here. It surprisingly hasn't rolled over and died to Shoprite, although I imagine that's due to Der Janson's idiocy.

Sabre Real Estate's site doesn't show it for now (and yet they show something available for lease in Medford that hasn't closed down yet), so who knows? People tend to speculate about closing supermarkets with stores like TJ's and WF all the time.

Stop and Shop in Holbrook is better than the Waldbaums from many points of view.

Not sure where I heard it from it's just a rumor going around the area, I checked the trader joes website and Westbury is the only newest location on LI opening up so far, there is one in Lake Grove.
