search goes on, house we wanted in sea cliff went into contract too fast not a lot else going on there at the moment so we are trying to narrow it down.
wants:
excellent schools
decent mix, not too working class not too stiff
at least 50 x 100
4 br
something to do in town
budget:
purchase (not asking price) of 700--740 as a max (would prefer to spend 650 ish)
1st choice: sea cliff
amenable to, from what i know: rock centre, maybe lynbrook, port washington. we like huntington and northport but cannot get past the geographic challenge of going to suffolk.
am i missing anything, or anywhere else i should be looking? I work in the city and my wife works part time in nassau.

Do you have any preference with regard to style? Colonial, Tudor, Cape, Split, Ranch, Victorian??
Does everything have to be totally updated?
Does the property have to be flat ("all usable")??

Roslyn Heights is one of those villages and hamlets on Long Island where many of the places (about 1 out of every 2 places) with the community name in their mailing address (1,704 acres) are not in the hamlet (944 acres).
