anyways, I know your kidding with the airplane tax lol. I really wouldn't want to tax anyone without representation but sometimes you gotta resort to this crap. I feel guilty even proposing it. I don't know how unions & politicians sleep at night raiding people's bank accounts the way they do so effectively.
The only thing I can think of is both of these professions (Landscaper/Massage business) are highly correlated with illegals, undocumented workers...cash businesses that mostly earn $ tax free to begin with.
All other modes of combating the ridiculous taxes have failed for decades now. Once we start building momentum to battle it, it gets shot down by various forces. So like Einstein said, doing teh same thing over and over again and expecting diff results=insanity..yada yada.

Alcohol kills more people than any other product I can think of (except maybe Raytheon JDAMS ?). As much as I like to drink on occasion, this is definitely fair considering smokers pay BIG taxes to NYS for the privilege of being able to smoke. Tanning I agree with too, that would be mega $$ on LI.
Personal prop, eh, not feeling that one. Good ideas though.
Nassau County should be jumping on these before the State and Federal Gov't impose them first! Lashing out to our draconian leaders about the ridiculous taxes has proved to be a waste of time.
If we don't rein in the out-of-control spending going on by the state, our only solution is to find taxes that make sense. If we don't do something fast, the bond market will eventually cut us off from funding and then all hell breaks loose. They're already sniffing weakness in Cali. If Cali goes, we are 2 or 3 on the list. I can see this happening in the next 12 months (maybe sooner depending on macroeconomic events).
