Oh come on...Mineola and Hicksville are not on the same level as the others.
Freeport and Westbury offer some really quick commutes for the OP, so they might want to try to find homes near each respective station. There are some good properties around there.
This thread is descending into silliness quite quickly.
Actually, I read the OP's thread title, "Looking for home in nice area in Nassau County - money is no option," as meaning she wants a house but has no money, since "money is no OPTION."
To the OP:
Find yourself a buyer's agent somewhere on the north shore of western Nassau.
Ok, enough already.
Fun was had by some, but somehow I don't think the OP came to this forum to be entertained
How about some constructive comments?
Ok, that would be easy. According to the OP parameters of money not being an issue. I would suggest King's Point, Plandome or Roslyn Harbor,. All great wealthy areas with excellent schools and less than an hour's commute to Manhattan.
I wouldn't suggest anything further east like Cove Neck or Mill Neck because the commute is not as good also Oyster Bay's schools aren't as good. The same applies to Locust Valley. Besides, don't the Gottis live in Mill Neck or at least Junior?
I however would suggest Muttontown further east, good commute and I believe Jericho or Syosset SD. This year Jericho HS was rated the best HS on Long Island
Since you want a quicker commute to the city and good schools...with money not being an option, then I'd consider:
Manhasset, Great Neck, Roslyn, Garden City, Rockville Center. Those are good areas with top notch schools and with fairly accessible train service and a decent commute (40 min or less).
You could add Port Washington to the list, great schools and a direct lirr line.
While the PW/Sands Point area is quite nice, the schools are not as good as the other schools in surrounding towns. If I lived in PW, my kids would be going to private school.
I grew up in Great Neck and the public schools there are really great. Better than the private schools.
