I had read the article earlier, but I had already forgotten about it till I saw this, clicked the link, saw beer critic and thought to myself "What a wonderful world" ...I mean... "oh, yeah, that guy". (couldn't resist)
Mike was something of a hero to people in the Oregon microbrew scene. He appeared at beer festivals in Oregon in the early 1990's, at a time when the state's beer industry was struggling to gain credibility and recognition. As a respected British beer critic, Jackson was able to use his trans-Atlantic pulpit to highlight the quality of many Oregon beers, which helped the industry flourish. Thanks to him, it is now possible to buy Oregon beers in Belgium, Germany, Japan, and elsewhere. As a critic, he always put quality first. When he found good beers, he highlighted them. No one in the industry 'owned' his opinions. He was refreshingly honest and impartial.
I dont care about Michael Jackson because he did not gave me anything. Those who are big stars does not care about anybody else just about them. People do not get that.
