Hey all,
I was watching something on tv the other day, and something came up about kudzu and how it has taken over (eaten) the south. I then drove down South University and on the right (headed toward UALR) I saw what looks like either ivy or kudzu taking over this power line and wall.
1st. Is it kudzu? 2nd. Where else can I find kudzu around LR?
Thank you!

Hey Bexar! I haven't noticed the stuff you are talking about, but don't stop to look at it because if it is, it grows so fast if you stop too long it will reach out and cover your vehicle. Well, maybe not that fast but it is bad!

Ha! Yeah, I've heard that. But I'm I'm not 100% sure it is kudzu. Have you seen any in the Central Arkansas area?

I'll try to drive by tomorrow and check it out. I'm not sure if there is any around here because I haven't given it any attention. I had it on my property near Malvern that I moved from to here, and I think there is some along I-30 near Caddo Valley.

I drove by today and I'm pretty sure it is Japanese honeysuckle and not Kudzu. J h is also very invasive but doesn't grow as fast as Kudzu.

You can do a Web search for Japanese honeysuckle and see pix of how it too covers everything, as does Kudzu, if not kept under control.

Ok, there is always a chance I don't know what I'm talking about, so just keep that in mind. If you are driving out of Little Rock on Arch Street, keep driving and there is a place owned by 3M (I think) It is a rock crushing, gravel making place and it is at the edge of Granite Mountain, not the community, the actual mountain. There is kudzu all over the place along that part of Arch Street. So if you've never seen any of it, that's where to go.
