We'll be moving to eastern PA and have been discouraged from looking in the Poconos. What does anyone know about Bethlehem, Easton, or Whitehall? We have a infant so we definately want to find a safe area. Also, I would need to find a job somewhere, so we have to find somewhere with a decent job market. Thank you for any information.

IF we take the plunge...we are going to definately look in the Lehigh valley area (parkland school district) or the east penn school district....but our favorite choice is south in the doylestown area....pricey homes..but the schools are great.

I teach in the Parkland School District (currently out on leave with my toddler) and live in the East Penn School District. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Taxes in EP are generally lower than Parkland but both are excellent districts. We live in Emmaus and love it here. It's a smaller town with friendly people and easy access to shopping/restaurants as well as Interstate 78 and the Northeast extension of the PA Turnpike.
