We plan (hopefully to buy a home in Hellertown just north of Skibo Rd. and about 1/2 mi west of 412 (Main St.) does anyone have any information regarding noise from outdoor shooting at the Gun Club on Meadows Rd. (just under a mile away). Their website seems to indicate they have rather liberal outdoor shooting hours and I'm hoping to learn what the likelihood would be that it could be heard from our new location. We have visited the property three times so far during the week and never heard anything.

I would ask your neighbors for the most accurate information. We live about three miles from a gun club and do indeed here the shots fired. We're used to it now and knowing it's targets that their shooting at, makes it livable.

Thanks....drove out there yesterday and talked with a couple of residents and a board member of the gun club (it's a big club!) but I think (hopefully) we will have pretty much the same situation as you. Firing can be heard but most describe it as more of a 'background' noise more easily mistaken for construction. Have to say though there is a large, quite pricey subdivision between us and them and when we drove through that I thought it was quite loud....but maybe they would be a bit of a buffer for us.
