In the past year North Bethlehem City has had 6 new Asian Restaurants open to join the existing 4.

Route 22 exits,
Schoenersville Rd,
1) NEW: Grand China Buffet replaced China Buffet in Westgate Mall (same location) Standard buffet- improved facility
2) Garden Family 2915 Schoenersville Rd (just south of 22 on West side)
No buffet
3) NEW: Mi Chong's (north of 22 on east side by WaWa)
successful Allentown restaurant with new branch- delicious
4) NEW: Pinoy Kitchen - Philippine food

Center St (Route 512)
5) NEW:Prince Palace (north of 22, near CVS & Golden Diner)
Very authentic dumpling house- mostly non-English speaking staff
6) NEW: My Chung's (not open yet, near Weiss Market & Subway)

Linden Street/ Nazareth Pike (Route 191)
7) Eastern Palace (near Walmart) oldest Chinese restaurant in Bethlehem
8) China King: buffet in Sears Plaza
9) NEW: Hibachi Grill - one location in Whitehall
Very very popular - huge crowds
10) NEW: Indian Restaurant - 1/2 mile south of route 22
only 8 seats, but excellent take-out. Where Caliente's Mexican restaurant closed in tiny aging strip mall.

The Prince Palace is drawing rave reviews for their dumplings. Very authentic. A plate of 8 dumplings starts at $3.50, or you can get 50 frozen dumplings to go starting at $15.

Personally, I was very impressed with the miniature Indian restaurant, but I would recommend taking the food to go. The menu was varied, prices were cheap, and the bread was delicious. You no longer have to drive to downtown Bethlehem or the South side to satisfy craving.

There is still no Thai or Vietnamese, but for a city without an appreciably large Asian these new places are a great improvement.

When you live on the West coast, it's difficult to throw a rock and fail to hit an Asian restaurant. Some of the new ones are more authentic than just Americanized Chinese food.

There is still no Thai, but fortunately there is one in downtown Bethlehem, and two on the South Side (one is take-out only).

Here is hoping for Vietnamese!

There's also a Thai restaurant in Emmaus - no website, but here's a review on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/thai-thai-house-emmaus
