Thanks. In Maryland, the tax year was the same (July 1 - June 30), but the tax bill was issued in August and was due in its entirety by September 30. However, you had the option to pay half by Sept. 30 and the other half by December 31 without penalty.

Reviewing my tax bill shows that 4% goes to indigent medical assistance and accident fund. Is this another way of saying to illegal aliens?

No, it means exactly what it says. Are you unfamiliar with the word "indigent"?

Not too bad, one of my tax payments will be half of last year. Unfortunately, seems like much of the revenue go to schools; it will make a lagging school system that much more desperate.

Mine went down about 10% from what the previous owner paid last year. But it's less than 1/2 of what they paid two years ago.

I have to say that Clark County is very good about lowering the assessed values of property compared to other places. They actually seem honest about trying to assess what the property is currently worth rather than making up a number based on whatever amount of money they want to collect from you this year. My taxes have gone down the past three years in Clark Country, but up the past three years in King County WA. And no, property values are not really climbing in the Pacific NW.

Have to agree. I got mine yesterday and was pleasantly surprised in the drop. However, I know that means my property is worth less .

My tax bill went down this year and last year I got a refund. Property value has dropped this year, no surprises there. My tax payment is included in my mortgage with Citibank.
