My fiance and I are getting married out in the Valley of Fire. I really wanted to get a tattoo in Vegas to complete the sybolism of the tattoo I want to get for me.

What is the BEST tattoo shop on the strip? Please help!

I don't know how good it is, but there was a place in O'Sheas right in the middle of the strip. I think you may even be able to look out on the strip while getting your tattoo.

Okay, really the tattoo places on the Strip generally aren't known for the quality of their work.

I would not get a tat on the Strip. You will be wearing this for a long time...go for quality.

Unless you want to pay out the a$$ for a tattoo, don't get one done at a shop on the Strip, especially any "celebrity" shops. Stick with smaller shops like Bad Apple and Crown Electric Ink, which are both on Charleston Blvd. I currently have ten tattoos, so I know what I'm talking about. What do you want to have done?

Agree with the others that you can find a shop off-Strip as good (perhaps better) as any on-Strip and much better priced.

But if you guys are only considering on-Strip, then I recommend Mario Barth (Mandalay Bay; Mirage- this location just opened a few weeks ago and is very nice).
Expensive but they do very good work.

I had posted a very long and informative piece about tattoos, but it got screwed up.

Here are the basics:

Research your shop and artist.
Don't get flash.
Discuss the piece that you want done.
Be prepared to make changes to it.
Tip your artist well, about $50 per $100.
Stringently follow all after care instructions.

Any questions?

I want to get to swans with their heads connected in the shape of a heart. It has meaning behind it...
I was thinking the strip because we will be staying at the Venetian. Generally how much are we looking at for a tat about maybe 6 inches in diameter and a re-color of an old one?

So most everyone is suggesting off-strip shops...is there a really good off-strip shop near Venetian?

And I am looking for quality, not just some cheap hole in the wall...or an over priced place that doesn't do great...

We leave for Vegas next week...
