Hi I'm planning on moving to las vegas to attend csn to retake some classes before apply to graduate school. But here's the catch, I'm completely on my own. So basically I'll be relying on credit cards to make initial payments (deposits, first month's rent, etc) and work two jobs.

I'll have a bachelors degree in the social sciences and sciences so hopefully I can get a job in human resources as full time and part time in retail. I was looking into Meadow Ridge (5055 S. Lindell Road -zip code: 89118) 5055 S. Lindell Road, Las Vegas, NV | Powered by Postlets

The place looks pretty nice however, pictures online don't always portray the reality, so I was wondering if people could post reviews or anything that they know about this apartment or its surroundings. Is this area safe to walk around at night/evening? I'm a girl in her early twenties so safety is a huge concern for me personally. I googled this apartment and could only find a couple of reviews and none were too bad but i want to make sure!

Also, i don't have a car. I don't think i'll be able to afford one either. I google mapped the routes and it seems like it'll take me anywhere from 1/2hr to a little of an hour to get to places. Can I live in las vegas without a car? -are the bus stop routes safe and do a lot of people (other than tourists) ride the bus?

Also, any tips/advice would gladly be appreciated! Thanks in advance~~

The area looks fine. You'll run into some homeless, crackheads, and the like if you venture a bit east on Tropican but you shouldnt have any issues.

Those apts look interesting. Seems some are townhomes, so you get a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. However, the area is old, that's why the apts are cheap, not the best, so just don't go walking alone at night. And that's good advice for anywhere really.

I've never heard of apartments accepting credit cards as deposits. Every place I have been a tenant at wanted either a cashiers check or proof of income.

As someone who moved here without a job and had success I can say its possible but I would strongly reconsider your plan. Aside from the fact that you are more than likely going to dig yourself into a financial hole, it takes a lot of mental fortitude to take on all of that by yourself. I don't know where you're coming from but I was surprised to see just how many people compete for even the lowest paying jobs here. Not at all the way it was back east for me.

My girlfriend rides the bus on average 1-2 times a week. Sometimes it's early, sometimes its late and twice it did not show up. Depending on where you are and at what time, there may be some seriously sketchy people around the bus stop/on the bus. No I would not recommend you walk around at night as a girl in your 20's in that area.

If you do end up going through with it please make sure you have a plan B.

Area is fine but your concern should be the bus transportation, I know there are buses on Flamingo not quite sure about Tropicana and which CSN campus will you attend, Charleston Campus or Cheyenne Campus?

That is NOT a nice area. Keep looking. In general, try looking in areas further West. And you do not want to be out walking alone at night *anywhere* in LV.
