The Admiral had her fancy champagne... I have had a rusty nail ..

We are as happy as we dare to get at our age.

So we will go off and see if we can watch the NY ball drop...

Then to bed.

To all the brave on the strip and the Experience...have one for us and sing an extra chorus of auld lang sygn...

Happy New Year. Many more...

And 2010 is going to be a whole lot better...

The Admiral and olecapt.

A very happy and prosperous New Year to you too.

Despite being in the Southwest for 10 years, the new year arrives for me when the ball drops in Times Square. So we celebrated at 10 PM in Arizona and now 9 PM in Las Vegas.

It will be the first New Year celebration for our 4 and 3 year old daughters. We are letting them stay up to watch the ball drop while drinking sparkling juice. So excited to share the experience.

May everyone have a safe and fabulous night no matter how you celebrate.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all my friends on C-D. A close friend took me and my dogs in until I can get back on my feet. I've got a lead on a security guard job, working on conventions. God willing, this new year will give me a fresh start.

The black hoodie with white stripes? LOL PSYCHO DUDE! My daughter and I were rolling! He was following Kevin Janison every where! Weird.

2009 was a particularly difficult year for many, many people. I'm hoping that 2010 is a kinder year for everyone. Best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy, and content New Year.

Muted red and pink
New Year's first dawn shimmering
Geese greeting the sun

My first haiku of the new year. I wrote this while sitting in my truck at the lake at Sunset Park. I'm giving my friend Greg (he and his wife took me and my dogs in after I was evicted yesterday) down here, so that he can go fishing, and he doesn't have to take the bus. On the way here we stopped at the 7-11 at Eastern and Reno, where I got my first taste of the elusive blueberry coffee. The only thing that could make it better is a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs (with lots of Tobasco sauce!), soft hash browns with brown gravy, and either soft bacon, or some wonderful garlic sausages. And rye or sourdough toast, of course!

I did manage to see a little of the Strip's fireworks from the front of my old complex on South Nellis, and Vegas Valley. Not bad, and the fireworks coming of the Stratosphere looked pretty cool.
