Decent, inexpensive dentist? A friend lost a crown today and needs to get it glued back in. Any ideas other than super glue? We live on the East side of town.

Thanks!

UNLV has a dental clinic on Shadow Lane. The Community Clinic may also work though I think that is in the NW.

I called them and they don't glue on crowns. They wanted to do the whole thing over and give him a new one. Even if you want to pay for the work they won't just glue it back in.

We've tried a couple other dentist offices and they seem to be closed and will reopen tomorrow.

Meanwhile the Shadow Ln Clinic seems to be a great deal for people who are uninsured and need work done.

YOu might try their community clinic. I think that is run by the professors to make a little money on the side. They may be more helpful.

My neighbor is a dental hygenist. According to her, DO NOT super glue the tooth in, as it destroys the tooth and will ALWAYS require more extensive dental costs. As an emergency measure, she suggested denture paste applied to the tooth and placed back in until the dentist appointment can be made.

I know a couple students who recently graduated from there.
The dental students do great (and inexpensive) work!
Simple procedures (such as cleanings), the students may be unsupervised; more complex/time-consuming procedures (root canal), they may be observed by faculty.

Check their website for appointment info:
UNLV School of Dental Medicine

FYI: The dental clinic is at UNLV's Shadow Lane Campus (Charleston/Shadow Lane intersection, which is 2-3 minutes west of Downtown/Arts District), not UNLV's Paradise (main) Campus.
