Hi All,

I have some food items that I was planning on donating to one of the holiday food drives that was going on earlier in the month, but I seemed to have missed them. I now have two boxes of food that I'd still like to donate somewhere, but I don't know who would accept it?

I checked out the Salvation Army website, but it doesn't seem like they accept food items.

Anyone know where I could drop of food donations near Henderson?

Thanks!

I might be mistaken, but I thought Smith's grocery stores had barrels set up to accept canned food donations. The bins might have been for Toys for Tots though. If you were on the west side I'd say take your food to Ronald McDonald House.

I, too was looking for a convenient place to donate. The City of Henderson has a community help line. The phone number is 211. Unfortunately, I still need to call the places registered with them during business hours to see when I can donate. She offered several places, but I only took the names of two: Giving Wise Ministries 702.565.4984, and Our Senior Church M-F 11am-1pm 702.565.9154. You'd think Henderson would have a food bank through feedamerica.org, since they are the ones spending all of the money on advertising. I'd say it's time for an elected official to pay attention. Strange how difficult it seems to be... But, the City of Henderson does thank you for your kind efforts.

I imagine local churches also have food basket programs etc and would be happy to accept a food donation.

Central Christian Church off 95 and Russell is a great place to donate food.
