Default UNLV basketball

In an earlier thread some of you were discussing the possibilities of getting a pro franchise. I was wondering why your college programs weren't better...seems like a perfect place to recruit kids. You've got everything, big corporate sponsors, great weather, huge night life, gorgeous women...only hard part would be keeping the kids from going nuts.

I know your football team has been decent a couple times in the last few years, but your basketball team hasn't done squat since Tark left. Maybe there's so much to do in Vegas that nobody cares?

I dont know...I love college sports...would rather watch "kids" play than the pros any day.

UNLV basketball is on the rise. They were ranked in the Top 25 earlier this season. They have been making steady progress in recent years.

Go Rebels beat BYU today!

Tark was great...It would be a tough job trying to control "super stars" in a city like Vegas. Maybe you cant do it. Recruiting might be the easy part...keeping them from breaking the 14,000 NCAA rules that hang over their head might be impossible.

Jim Boeheim supposedly never noticed that all his starters were driving new Camaro's in the late '80's

The football team has been crappy for many years...The basketball team has been decent, and climbing up recently..There will be no pro teams here until Las Vegas agrees to take that certain sport out of the betting...Never happen...The NFL is a joke and has to ahve complete control as noticed by no where being able to say they are showing the Super Bowl because the NFL owns that phrase. NOw they are making a big deal about the saying Who Dat saying they own that phrase too. They would never have control in Vegas......The NBA tried it a few years ago and the locals hated everything about the game and the fans it brought...MLB would be the best bet, but there would have to be a domed stadium...We have the Las Veags Wranglers hockey and that draws about a couple thousand people per game, so not enough to support a pro team, but then again pro sports teams are over rated and not as fun to watch as minor leagues
