Hi,

I'm new to this site and I'm not even sure if i'm posting in the right area, but is anyone familiar with the hiring process for Wynn/Encore?

I just took a hair test and completed a background check and now the employment center says they are making final decisions and I should hear something within 2 weeks. Does that mean they still have other applicants they are considering or is it safe to say I will be hired? I'm confused because I've never taken a drug test without being offered the job first, but now i'm wondering if they just send every one they're interested in for a drug test.

Please share any thoughts thanks so much! Bree

Don't assume anything in hospitality in Vegas! Drug and background checks are just part of the application process. Read the citycenter section, even prescription drugs fail the test

Congrats on the job!!! How did you go about getting a job at the Wynn, especially in this economic enviroment. Reason I ask is because a friend of mine is trying to get an accounting job in las vegas and any information would be helpful especially since you just went through the process.

Thanks in advance

Getting into accounting or audit at a major casino is easy if you’re willing to start as a clerk for low wages. There is a fast turnaround for accounts payable and slot & table audit clerks. It's the low wages that keep accounting grads from taking the positions when they can make more money working for temp agencies until something comes along.

I applied at the Wynn and to my surprise, got an interview. I had my drug test less than a week later, but I still haven't heard anything from them. That was just over 2 weeks ago. As it says above, it seems ridiculous to send someone for a hair drug test that they aren't interested in, but silence for 2weeks after the drug test? The lady who interviewed me even told me if I didn't get the position applied for, that she would recommend me for another one about to open. Can anyone tell me how long this process takes? I'm at the end of my tether of hope! Thanks.
