this place doesn't seem to have much good luck over the last few years...

I wonder what they will be able to salvage as part of the building and its a good thing that the sign is safe over at the Neon Museum...

Wondering what the cause of the fire was?

It's a shame, the place was very historic, very "old time" Las Vegas.

IF I was a gamblin man, I'd take odds on squatters.

I think this SMELLS. The sign was removed this week, and now it burns the rest of the way down?

I suspect that the developers torched it for the Insurance money.....

i'm thinking it was squatters too...have you ever been by the Key Largo Casino early in the morning, usually you can see squatters living in this abandoned hotel, sometimes with a fire inside, i'm amazed that place hasn't been burned down yet...

There were no squatters in the 'hotel proper' when I was there, and no evidence of them. In the apartment buildings in the back (which was part of the moulin property) they were completely full and lived in. Furnished, curtains, people had padlocks on their apartment doors and the windows boarded up.

So unless it was a crackhead that nodded off with a lit cig, I doubt squatters just burned it for ****s and giggles.
