I saw this one: Sin City Brewing Co. – Las Vegas Microbrewery

Anyone had that? Looked briefly and it sells on the Strip..probably greatly overpriced.

Anyone try it nontheless? Any other microbreweries seen in Southern Nevada?

never tried it, but it seems to have an affiliation to gordon biersch. based on its beer selection, i don't have great hopes for any craft beer flavor, but that doesn't mean it won't be decent.

of the local breweries i have tried (chicago, draft house, main st station, gordon biersch, tenaya creek, and ellis island) i would w/o reservation put TC as the best in terms of craft...was pleasantly surprised by the quality, selection and flavor. ellis island i put last...the beer isn't bad in any way...just lack luster. the prices are great though, and, like i said, not bad at all. the rest kinda fall in the middle, depending on which beer you get.

there is a decent brewery down in boulder city (boulder dam brewing company), complete w/ beer garden. i would put them 2nd on my list. the beer is quality, but 'engineered' for the hot summers (aka, they are all light bodied, even the stout). their new IPA was really good....need to go back and refill the growler (not my belly , the bottle). the will make several hot weather mixes as well (shandy's etc.) which i do recommend on a hot day. decent food to boot and dog friendly!

there is a new place in henderson (jacks or joes or something) that has some affiliation w/ the freakin' frog. i have only seen their beer at whole foods where it is ~$10/sixer....haven't tried it yet as i know i can get a great beer for that price and i am not willing to get a so-so one. i also worry that of the three or four beer i see, one is a blueberry something . if anyone has tried any of these i would love to hear a review.

I also tried (and liked) Tenaya Creek. There's also a brewery down in Laughlin...in the something(?) Belle Casino...that was not bad (taste, nor price)...but that was back in 2001...not sure if they still are operating.

Just tried Boulder Dam Brewing Company the other day, and it was dam good beer...or best beer by a dam site...or best dam beer in Boulder City...or...

The Big Dog chain has good beer too. Best of those is the Draft House where the brewery is now located. There used to be a brew pub downtown in the Main Sreet Station that was way too noisy for moi, but the food and beer was good. Don't know if it's still there.

I've been to Tenaya Creek and The Draft House - liked them both. From what I remember, Tenaya Creek was a little more yuppie-ish (we didn't go there more than twice I don't think) while the Draft House was more down home - which is where we went most often for beer and burgers, plus we lived nearby. I'm looking forward to beer and cheese curds at the Draft House again :-)

Ahhh...yes...how could I forget Barley's...was there last year. It was good...maybe too good....that's how I forgot about it. Mrs O went wild and vomitted in the parking lot! She tried to keep up with me. I won.

I also like Tenaya Creek and Big Dogs. Holy Cow used to be great, but they closed down. The were on the NE corner of Sahara, and the Strip. Are you guys sure that those Boulder City brewpubs/microbreweries are within city limits of Boulder City? If I'm not mistaken, they're still dry.

boulder city is definitely not dry. the boulder dam brewery is downtown right up the street from milo's (great little wine and food place....highly recommended...and the are dog friendly as well). i have also bought beer in town at the grocery store.
