Hi all,

I am in escrow right now on a REO. Everything is pretty good inside but I would like to paint the interior. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you

Kevin

Painting is a fairly easy DIY job, why don't you give it a try?

Congrats on finding a house.

Painting an entire home by yourself can become a chore. It's gratifying getting one or two bedrooms done. But a week later when you're just taping off the guest bathroom you'll be wondering whether its been the best use of your time.

If it's just a few rooms, you can do it yourself or get someone to do it for $300 a room, or so. Might make sense to do it yourself if you have a free weekend in that case.

I used Vegas Painters to paint most of my house. They did a high quality job and were incredibly fast and thorough:

I am repainting ours. If I had the money I would hire someone. I have only done the downstairs, and only primer. It has taken about 4 coats of killz primer to cover the colors that were in here. Every wall was a different color, all dark colors. Plus it was all semi gloss. Sucks!

My neighbor recently hired a guy that did a lousy job. Make sure they have references.

Good time to replace the carpet. pull the carpet out--go to town with a wagner power painter, take it back to wal-mart--put in the new carpet--and you're done. Vaulted ceilings are no problem with the proper pole extensions.

That's interesting. a good 50% of the Reo I saw had various interesting colors on the walls. Many oranges and purples.

Must be a Vegas thing.LOL

I know right. I saw some interesting color combos. I personally could not imagine living most of them, guess my taste is too bland! LOL

I agree. My only thought on that was that alot of HOAs restrict the colors you can use outside so since the neighborhood is so bland, they go wild inside? Maybe? Now, I know why the HOAs restrict that, there would most likely be some wild color exteriors out there!!!

Did you finish all yours?
