I remember someone on this board talking about pests in Las Vegas and mentioning Killer Bees. I ran across this story today and thought I'd post it. It happened near here.

Behind Sunset Park, there is an area that goes back aways with some cliffs by it. The company I use to work for had a job for the city for A huge bees nest. We actually taped it because we could not believe the size of the hive. I can not remember the exact area, but it was right by sunset park, but it was not an area that you could see from the main streets.

killer bees are not that common here. You have a lot of people that think any bee they see are killer bees, after stories like this. One way to tell is if they are really aggressive, but even then, unless you get them analyzed you have no way of being for sure that they are africanized.

Killer Bees? Isn't that the name of a roller derby team?

7 years of ER nursing in Vegas, I've seen only 1 case of KB stings. Now drunks and rattlesnakes ...
Of course all the rattle snakes are currently in Carson City and DC

Do you actually see rattlesnake bites?

Spent a lot of time in the desert and the local mountains and I have yet to see one.
