I think that was excellent advice, MomMom.... seems like way too many people are under the impression that Las Vegas is an oasis of easy-come, well-paying jobs (which perhaps it was, at one time.) Err on the side of caution, I would say....

Actually it was often difficult five years ago. But it is substantially worse now.

appreciating all your good insight :)
O.K., so I'm learning something from all of you, thanks. but I could use some more specifics about the LV music industry. so my husband Dave the drummer is in the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, so he's a pro., has played with everyone from Little Richard to Lou Rawls. so how would he go about connecting with people who hire serious musicians in LV? yes, he has an agent, but his agent just seems to know about gigs on the road and I want to keep him in one place, we just got married! so tell me more people about the bands/prod. co.'s who are involved with the casinos?

That resume alone is just not good enough for a long a successful gig in LV. Your husband's still gonna need juice (and I don't mean the kind usually associated with cetain newlywed activities!
) Being married to a musician and depending on such for primary income is usually condusive to lonely nights and moving around.
