83 a month??!!!! Yeah, something is wrong, but I don't think it is with the meters. It is with America. My heat bills are over 200. for about 1500 sq ft. Geesh. No upstairs, but a basement. I know I do need new windows too, I am probably heating the outside!

I'll check and see what my monthly usage is. Something must be wrong with that meter.
$14 per mcf... house built in 1966 new windows furnace and siding.. full finished basement...i used 30 mcf last month plus the transportation charge... its ridiculous.

Gas heat is expensive. I had a 2000 sqft house which cost $330 a month to "heat" in the winter (if you can call 65 degrees warm). The all-electric (heat pump) place I'm in now seems to be about half that cost! So yes, I definitely prefer electric. Oh well.

Simple misunderstanding. I forgot to write that the house I spied in Aliante is $80k. I've been down with the flu here... don't be too rough on me

My gosh, that is rediculous. I have natural gas heat in my 1400 sq ft place and my bill to southwest gas last month was only $78.00. I run the heat all day. I usully leave it at 66 during the day for the cat and turn it up to 71 at night.

Thanks guys - this is excellent information!!! They really sock it to us here for NG. My acquaintances in town all have similar winter bills...

Checked out my gas bill and instead of being broken down into mcf, it was ccf. Said I paid .97 cents per ccf plus taxes and delivery charge. Average monthly consumption is 66 ccf.

Finally had a showing on this house last week. Was sooo excited as I have 3 bookmarked now in Vegas I am very interested in, all with reduced prices. The showing realtor was over 2 hrs. late and as I sat in my car down the street all that time and waited with 3 big dogs loaded in the car, one of them in the backseat drooling down the back of my neck, I kept telling myself "life was not perfect." Then the showing feeback was, "they loved, loved my house but the woman's delicate nose picked up the scent of my cigarette smoke" and that's all she wrote. I hate myself !!!

Don't be too rough on yourself. The lady who bought my house "smelled cats" even though I don't own any Some people...

Next time light scented candles, stage the house a little... and leave out a copy of your affordable heating bill

Sorry to butt in, but may I ask why do you heat your home in Nevada during the day? Are you refering to the winter months? To me as a Montanan, it sounds a bit funny
