I agree with Vegaschick, I would rather live in the 215/GV area than Anthem.. much better choice.

My husband was raised in southern California, we moved out of Vegas (Summerlin) due in part to high crime. Since you don't have kids yet, I would try it out since you seem excited about the opportunity. There are certainly major cons to raising children in this city, more so than the average city IMO, yet your family may be able to overlook them. Yes, it is very hot.. in fact, one summer a section of the interior of my new car literally melted off!

. I'm originally from Santa Rosa. I lived there until I was 13, then lived in Napa for 27 years. At the end of this May it'll be four years that I've lived in Vegas. I was last there in September of 2k7. What really cheeses me is that the week after I was in Santa Rosa, my favorite band, Jethro Tull, played there! Argh!!!
