As long as you remember the personal story is anecdotal. It also helps if you have some knowledge of the bias the guy is working...if any.

AFT has a good summaries of Teacher salaries at...

http://www.aft.org/salary/2005/downl...larySurvey.pdf

Interestingly their rackups for the 50 largest cities don't include Las Vegas...which seems weird. They don't claim to be only AFT cities but perhaps they are...does not look that way though.

Oh I do. I take everything I read with a grain of salt. It still sticks in your mind untill I hear otherwise though. I try to have an open mind, it helps alot of the negatives spill out.

Capt, I had a question. I was looking at houses on Realtor.com, and saw some in a neighborhood called Anthem in Henderson. Is this a good area? It looks like it to me according to what I can gather and crimeview. I have a feeling that crimeview is not accurate because it is Henderson though. How do I contact the agency listing the property? It is a rental, so I guess I could just email them or call them.

Anthem is a very nice place. Traffic in and out is a little much but that is really the only short coming other than being a little pricey. Drop me a PM with whatever info you have got and I will find out who to call. Generally Realtor.com shows the listing agent. Call them. If they don't help you message me and I will or I will get someone to show it to you.

I used to live near Anthem when it was started, and frequently, unfortunately have to go through Anthem because of the Kosher Albertsons...Anthem has a lot of traffic problems...Also, you should basically just limit your shopping to Walgreens, CVS, Albertsons, VONS, and Longs Drugs, because that's all that's there, unless you want to go on the congested Eastern Avenue, which is only 1 of two entrances/exits to Anthem, and it requires having to go through a 12 month school zone...the other exit, is one lane each way and will become increasingly congested because of the building of Inspirada...somewhere else on this forum has a bunch of posts on people's thoughts of Anthem...

I have a friend who owns an apartment near Titanium Metals. He lives in Phoenix and the current tennants will be out of there around the time we are moving there. It is near Black Mountain Golf Course but not on it. Rent is great. I have crashed there before for a night when he lived there, but cannot for the life of me remember the area. Anyone have any insight on this area. All I remember is that Boulder Highway runs in front of it.

Traffic in Anthem would not be an issue for me. Traffic is an everyday thing and I have come to accept it as part of life. Nonetheless, thank you for the insight.

Funny you say that because I am from a city that is cutting edge and full of educated people. Guess where the talent pool is comming from? India, Tiawan, Singapore, China..etc.. The biggest complaint from the tech firms is there is no "american born" talent comming out of school to fill these high tech jobs and they have to import them. Its pretty sad

Sad, but true, as American parents have no intersest in their kids, and do not teach them responsibility, or work ethic---- just take home as much money as you can, no matter what you do.
