So we'll be moving soon and I need some recs for good movers. I searched and Warren's and CheepCheep Movers were given the thumbs up. But that was awhile ago, not sure if these companies are still good or even around anymore so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. We are packing everything up ourselves, they will just need to load and unload. We'll be moving about 15 miles. It's enough stuff to fit into 900sf of apartment. If anyone has any rough estimates of cost that would be appreciated also.

Also we are going to install some laminate floor and ceramic tile. We're being quoted $3-5 sf for install with some larger companies that work with the chain stores like Lowes. Anyone know of a reliable handman type, or affordable contractor who might be able to beat this price?

Thanks,
Dee

I have 2 movers for you, sort of...

1. Do a search for movers like ... 2 men and a truck movers las vegas nevada ... You'll find someone listed like that. If you want to DM me, I guess thats direct message me here, I'll let you know if you found the right one. They gave us 3 men and a truck for about $110 per hour. We moved 4 miles from 3br apt to house and it was right at $450. They charge double time for travel time, go figure?, but the total was still around $450. they were quick, courteous and kept us posted of their arrival time. We also packed ourselves.
2. These guys moved 7 pieces we bought at a consignment shop from the store to our house, about 12 miles for $80. They were extremely polite and careful ... Wild West Delivery ... The driver told me they do small local moves as well. Mention the $110 per hour rate when you call and they may match it. 283-7602. www.wildwestdelivery.com
3. I have also heard that starving students has some kind of compay with their own truck and that they too fo a good job.
Sometimes they dont like direct referrals here so feel free to DM me with any questions. Good Luck

I used Cheep Cheep almost 2 years ago. I moved from a one story into a 2 story, and they did not damage anything. The guys were great, and the price was right on what I was quoted on the phone.

I used Warren's about two months ago to move locally. They were on time, polite, worked fast, and didn't break anything. I'd use them again. Might cost you about $400-$500 as I think I have a similar amount of stuff.

For handymen, I can DM you the guy who's been doing stuff at my place. He did wallpaper removal and re-painting, plus a bunch of minor fixes. Let me know.

the BEST movers are Square Cow Moovers. You can google them. For wallpaper, I highly recommend Matt Brinson Matt_Repairman@yahoo.com

I used 2 men and a truck before. They did not pack my things tight to the roof and everything jumbled in the move and some things got dented. They also dropped my husbands dresser and we had to fight with them to get it repaired which they eventually did pay for.
