Don't hate.

Right, there is no crime in San Diego at all. No gangs either. No drugs. All the schools are perfect and teach nothing but Rhodes scholars.

Get real, just as much crime if not more in San Diego. SoCal has just as many problems as any place else, you have not found Utopia. What you have found is the best place for you, as we have as well in Vegas. As for your endless "Don't hate" comments, nothing is more "hater" than trolling on a forum and belittling a metro area of over 2mm people (most of which have jobs and many of them have very good jobs) because you did not find success out here. To quote a classic verse, "The world don't move to the beat of the same drum, what might be right for you may not be right for some 'cuz it takes different strokes to move the world yes it does".

FWIW, I am originally from SoCal. Born and raised, spent 19 years all over OC, the IE, and spent plenty of time in North County. Spent my high school years in Temecula. Lots of gang activity in places like San Marcos, Escondido, Vista, and Oceanside. The reason I moved out here was because of the fact that there were no jobs.

P.S. You STILL have not addressed the fact that CA has an unemployment rate of 7.7%. Do you refuse to acknowledge that there are more unemployed in CA, particularly considering the difference in population?

California unemployment is now 7.7% - a bit higher than in Nevada

One thing I wanted to point out to the OP really quick.

NV population as of 01/01/2008: 2,565,382 (est.)

At 7.1% unemployment that means that about 182,142 people are out of work in this state.

CA population as of 01/01/2008: 38,000,000 (est.)

At 7.7% unemployment that means that about 2,926,000 people are out of work in that state.

Just an objective observation.

BTW, there are a lot of haters on this board. Many of them are real estate agents that love to prop up Vegas with lies.

Do your research. Information is out there on how bad it is in Nevada.

California isn't doing too well either.

50K a year in cali is chump change. You can't even afford to buy a condo with that salary.

if you live in san diego now, why is your screen name still "needajobinvegas" and posting on a "las vegas" forum?

I moved out many months ago. BEST THING I ever did.

Just some friendly thoughts from someone who lost money seeking a dream in Vegas which turn out to be a nightmare.
