It appears to me Red Rock's standards have declined for cocktail waitresses since opening....

Intriguing...Having spent many years on the "straight" side of employment laws I find it really interesting as to how you deal with jobs where sexual attributes are job requirements.

I would think, even though I hate to say it. that the ability to dance provocatively in a bikini and high heels is a legitimate job requirement. And the present of officious people in relatively formal dress may help sort the applicants. Chutzpah is its own reward...

Certainly interesting.

Yes there are auditions out there for cocktail servers especially for poolside cocktail servers. Others get in just by knowing people in the business.

No I would not do that unless I was auditioning for a job that required me to dance. You want to see me in the uniform i'll be doing my job in, fine. You want me to wear a bikini or to sing or dance as it would be part of my job, fine. I've not seen a cocktail waitress serving inside Red Rock casino dancing or wearing a bikini-have I not looked in the right spot?

I don't have any particular aversion to wearing a bikini and dancing for an audition...but it most likely would be for a comedy club.

There is a secret elevator that takes you to the bikini floor. That info is on a need to know basis.

For many...that elevator only travels in one direction.

Obviously they are doing a good job of screening out uptight people like you.

I had worked at 2 other pools as a cocktail server prior to applying to Bartend at Red Rock and had never been asked to dance in a night club in front of fully dressed management personell before. This seemed very degrading and unrelated to the actual job. If they are concerned with your "being comfortable in a bikini" they should have you come to the pool area and serve the management mock drinks---preferably with management in pool attire. This would actually be related to the job at hand.

yes, GVR told me I have to go to an audition: to dance in a bikini to management for a cocktail waitress job inside casino. Not for a pool server! and the uniform is actually not skimpy-its a black dress, so why the management wants to see candidates in a bikini?, its such a vulnerable state. Kind of like being in your underwear in front of your boss. grrrr... I did not expect this, I did not apply for a pool server or go go dancer job.
