Ok, I have a stupid question. I am trying to sell and/or give away some things that I brought with us that I no longer need. I am an avid ebayer but I have some furniture (which of course has to be pick up only) and quite frankly am a little tired of boxing and mailing. I have tried craigslist but it seems that there are a tremendous amount of people who say they want something and don't show up. In Maryland craigslist was the way to go but here I am not so sure.

Anyway....just wondering if anyone had any other brilliant ideas. Should I just brave the heat and hassle and have a garage sale??

Told you it was a stupid question

Thanks!

if it's stuff you want to GIVE away call someone like Salvation Army....or as a last resort.....get a stopwatch....set it out on the curb the day before trash day.....click the stopwatch and make bets on how long it takes to disappear.

If its SELL...then a yard sale is it....but be prepared to almost give it away lol

funny...I do have a stopwatch. But even when I want to give stuff away they don't show up. Crazy. Did you ever hear the story about the guy who wanted to give away a refrigerator so he set it out on the curb with a "FREE" sign on it and no one took it? After a couple of days he decided to put a "FOR SALE $50.00" sign on and someone stole it.

For the free stuff, you can use FreeCycle. The Las Vegas list has about 8,000 members, so if your stuff is worth having, someone will likely want it.

For the stuff you want to sell, Craigslist, eBay and yard sales are probably your best bets.

might be best just to take it to salvation army/goodwill/other charitable organization. make sure you get a receipt, and use it for tax purposes.

Usually furniture goes pretty fast at a garage sale. But most people wait until October. You could do it early in the morning and plan to close up shop by noon.
