I JUST asked this question in one of my posts... Apparently there isn't a definitive "Best" tattoo artist in Las Vegas. That's too bad.

It all depends on what style you're looking for. You wouldn't ask someone who does tribal to do a portrait, would you?

Tribal?? yikes. No I understand. What she wants is relatively simple. Looking for a good well rounded tat artist/ shop.

A word of advice. Tip your artist well, especially if you're getting custom work done. My rule of thumb is to tip $50 per $200 to $250 worth of work. This makes them happy to see you if you're a repeat customer, so they'll go that extra mile when they work on you. After all, you don't want to be a cheap jerk who doesn't have any class. Those are the people who get flash.

Stay away from shops on the strip. You'll pay AT LEAST two to three times as much as you would any other shop in town. Go where the locals go, not where the tourists and rock stars go. Before I got my first tattoo, I went over to Hart & Huntington at the Palms. They said that the design that I wanted (a Cross & Crown, maybe 3" x 2", at most) would have cost $500 to $600. My most recent tattoo covers the inside of my right forearm, from wrist to elbow, and cost only $250. It was done by Aaron at Diversity on Craig & Rancho. I've built up a good rapport with him. The only other artists that I'd want to work on me would either Horiyoshi III, Horiryu, or some of the other Japanese masters. It's going to take considerable time and money, but I'm planning on getting an irezumi style back piece of a dragon.

I'm not familiar with those shops. I get all of my work done at Diversity. I've heard good things about Bad Apple on East Charleston. What are thinking about having done? What part of your body do you want it done on?
