I just finished my backyard-- pool and spa and an area of fake grass to put a swing set on-- it does get VERY hot in the sun-- my guy said it should last 50 years I think??? Who knows-- it looks pretty though

Easy check...Have him show you one past 50 years....

I am skeptical of anything lasting 50 years in this desert unless you can easily find examples older than 50.

50 years? I tend to doubt that, but at least you don't have to mow it. Mowing around a swing set would be no fun. Mine is eight years old, as I mentioned up-thread. It's starting to show it's age and it was top of the line stuff at the time.

Still a better choice than rocks or real grass near a swing set. If it's good enough for the NFL, then I guess it's good enough for us.

Ha!...it probably wasn't even being produced 50 years ago. ...and if it was, I'm sure the technology
is very different than then. I'm skeptical too.

I never said that I believed his claim-- just repeating what he said--I'm hoping it lasts a while though

I had about 1,000 square feet put in by Synlawn. I think the warranty is for 7 years or so. After 3 years I can already start to see traffic wear and the blades of grass laying down. It does get hot, but when it's that hot outside I don't really want to be out there anyways. Even thought it's starting to show wear, I still think it was worth the cost considering the water I save and the amount of time on weekends spent not mowing the grass.
