Hi, we are moving along nicely here. Now in Denver. Forgot to ask if anyone knew of an excellent veternarian in the NorthWest (elkhorn & thom area if possible)... never know.. just want to be ready if something happens to the furballs...

You didn't say if you have dogs or cats.

For cats, the best vet in Las Vegas is probably All About Cats at
4370 S Durango Dr
Las Vegas, NV 89147
997-6461

They gave my 16 year old cat (now almost 18) a new lease on life. Fantastic Vets.

If you have dogs, I'm don't know.

I go to the one on Ann/Simmons. No appt required ever, just walk in. The time to wait is never very long. The vets are really good and the prices too. Ann road animal hospital.

I go to South Shores Animal Hosp., 8420 W. Lake Mead, a block east of Rampart. They have been great with our dogs. The vets and the techs are great. We board them there too, plus there is a nice young lady that comes to the house to look after them when we leave them at home.

I stopped going to Craig Road Animal Hosp when they wanted to put my dog on meds for his heart without even examining him. I took him to a vet I know and can trust and she said there was nothing wrong with his heart. They just wanted to sell treatments. I asked the guy how he could tell my dog had a heart murmur when he didn't even listen. He said, oh we can just tell by looking at them. Yeah, right.

Even worse problems with PetSmart vets, and especially the idiot "techs" that work for them and can't read or write.

You might need these people sometime too. Las Vegas Animal Emergency Hospital. I think it is the only one in town. 5600 W. Charleston, between Jones and Decatur. They are only open at night after the other vets close, but 24 hours on major holidays.

I also had a bad experience at Craig road animal hospital with one of my cats about 4 years ago. I would never recommend that place...plus they seemed to be more interested in money than anything else.
The other place I would not recommend is the VCA hospitals. They had the same practices as Craig Road.

Centennial Hills Animal Hospital is near you at the corner of Farm and Cimmaron.

7551 N Cimarron Rd, 89131
(702) 655-0241

You don't need appointments and they are open on Sundays. Very friendly staff and good prices.
