Upper class isn't generational wealth. Upper class is the top tier of total wealth, usually the top % of private holdings the country. By your own definition Bill Gates wouldn't be upper class, and he's the top of the pyramid in the entire country, and many days of the year the entire world.

You are talking about what is called "old money". "Old Money" doesn't exist on the entire west coast, let alone Las Vegas. Old Money is Rockefellers, Mellons, Fords, Duponts, Kennedy's, and the like. The roots don't go back far enough on the west coast for any Old Money to exist here yet. In 100 years, you will have old money from Gates, Buffet, Allen, Jobs, and the like but not now.

The 26B net worth was when LVS stock was around $150 share. It's now at $50 share. Still rich enough though

Steve Wynn is from Syracuse, NY where he graduated from a private military school which is now a prep school.

Thought you might find this interesting - The first time I traveled through Las Vegas in the late 60's the place was not very big at all with only a couple of small casinos on the main thoroghfare. As a matter of fact there were ads on tv by one of the car dealers that if you bought a new car they would give you an acre of land to go along with it for free. The desert came up almost to the downtown.

Actually he is from Utica NY-about 25 minutes east of Syracuse, and about 20 minutes from Manlius Pebble Hill (Dewitt NY) where he went to school

I don't know much about either of those two families. I hear Molaski and Tarkanian all of the time... figured those people must be rich.

Probably not elite...? This is one of the more unusual threads.
