Step down? Maybe you didn't know that the largest portion of our language is latin-based. Languages like Spanish, Italian, and French were here long before English, and knowing a little about them makes English more understandable.

Do you realize that most people that speak Spanish and other languages also speak English and other languages? How many do you speak?

Sorry, but I don't hate Hispanics since some of my relatives, including my granddaughter, are Hispanic, as are quite a few of my close friends.

And since you asked, the upside down question mark ¿ is alt 168. Try it. It's fun. And alt 171 gives you ½, which is how much of a brain it takes to see that you are obviously a racist.
I cant be nice and be a racist too. Can I? Nothing wrong with education but I dont link education with refusal to learn the official language.

By the way.....what do you call that alt + a number? Is it HTML ? Where can I find that info? Like I said before. I find that fasinating.

Thanks !

Try...

A tutorial on character code issues

alternate character codes has been with windows since way early on.

It is actually a big and complex field. Used to run an organization that collected character glyphs...that is the actual shape of the characters in all the worlds languages. I actually have a book with some 50,000 characters in it. Most of those known in the world 15 years ago. Unfortunaly there are a lot more. The Japanese for instance make them up for place names. And the ultimate put down in Japanese is to send someone a memo with a character they don't recognize.

THis 89031 that is nice is roughly north of Craig up to Centennial and east near 5th. The western boundary is probably all the way to Decatur.
If you go below Craig the schools might not be that desirable.

Would you be able to help your parents qualify using your income and credit? FHA allows non-occupant co-borrowers, which basically means that everyone's name would be on the home. You as the non-occupant co-borrower would help credit and income qualify but it would be your parent's home. I've done a few of these with parent's as the NOCB's for their children's homes, but just as doable the other way around.

Awesome !

So thats how they make those strange symbols. I see a lot of these in the Real Estate for sale section on this forum and wondered how they do it. Because it is different it does catch the eye and cause people to click on it. They even have the British dollar sign.

ASCII. I remember that from College but I was more interested in other things.

Thanks Buzz and Olecapt

Older than that. Originally a teleprinter code. See...

ASCII - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Could read ASCII punched tapes when I was a young engineer.

You don't want to invest your hard earned money anywhere in the east side of Las Vegas, or North Las Vegas. Even neighborhoods that are new now will be rundown in 10 years or so. The established neighborhoods over there have all ready been turned into ghettos. Just forget all the other parts of town and move to Summerlin. If you find a good deal in Summerlin, which you should be able to do right now, it would be like buying there 20 years ago...still nice. And it will still be a good place to live 20 years from now. Not so with other parts of town that have no associations or regulations to keep the community nice.

Okay, first of all the are NO neighborhoods in Las Vegas on par with East LA or any other California ghetto. I grew up in East San Jose and lived in the Bay area until i was 18 and trust me, vegas is far from it. They are older parts of town with a higher mix of hispanic and black working class people. Id say the only parts u have to stay away from are the WestSide and the downtown area. The East Side and Northtown are okay but would not be a good investment 15 years down the line. In Aliante, Cenntenial Hills and Lone Mountan you can find a nice home around $170-$250.

Summerline is okay but way over rated, it has rundown areas as well... (charleston and decature is still considerd summerline)

check out ZipRealty Real Estate -- Homes for sale and local real estate agents i used there site when i bought my second home in aliante. i breaks it up so u can search by area or what ever.

What area are you referring to when you say the Westside is a part of town to stay away from? The west side of the valley is a very nice area, with certain exceptions. As a rule, the closer it is to the strip, again with a few exceptions, the worse the area will be. The farther west you go the nicer the areas get. As far as Northtown goes, if you are referring to the older sections of North Las Vegas I would steer clear if possible. Lake Mead and I-15 is not an area that I would want to live, now or 15 years from now. Lastly, Charleston and Decatur are not considered Summerlin. Summerlin is a specific master planned community and one must pay dues to live in this area. If you live near Summerlin but are not paying the SIDS/LIDS for Summerlin then you are not in Summerlin. Charleston and Decatur are about as close to Summerlin as Lone Mountain and 215.
