Fellow paintballers I need your help. A friend and I who used to play paintball religiously now have few choices when it comes to paintball here in Vegas. We have started toying with the idea of opening our own indoor field. We aren't talking a puny little field with a few bunkers...we are talking a massive indoor complex with several fields, scenarios, speedball, and recball. Our biggest concern is finding a market for a field of this nature. Would there be an interest in using a field like this? Please post your responses and let me know of any suggestions you might have.

Thanks for your input!

I'd be willing to bet that you couldn't afford to pay the rent with the money you'd bring in. You're talking about something that would take 100,000 SF + of space, and even if you find cheap warehouse space, you're talking about a monthly lease payment of over $25,000. You'd also need to cool this space (and most warehouse space isn't really meant to be cooled to comfortable temps for running around in), and you'd spend several thousand dollars/month on utilities.

Now add in the cost of building the fields, insurance, employees, etc.- unless there's a far larger paintball scene than I'm imagining, what you're suggesting isn't financially feasible.

There are quite a few indoor paintball facilities in the valley, 4 that I know of. The largest one is off of Tropicana and Boulder Hwy I believe, and measures in at around 46,000 sq ft. Not to mention of course the abundance of multi-acre outdoor fields. In all honesty I feel that the market is oversaturated with facilities when one considers the popularity (or lack thereof) of the sport. Not saying that it's not popular, just that I don't feel that it's popular enough to support more facilities in a way that would be profitable.

i agree with the above posters. check out pbnation and see how hard it is for people to start up a field. it takes mucho $$ and i hear you don't start making decent money until after a year or so. i'm moving to nevada too, henderson specifically. i saw some decent fields on pbreview, bonehead pb and some field named las vegas premier look decent. once i get out there and get settled, i can ball with you guys. i move this coming monday

My family used to own and operate the only indoor paintball field on the East coast in the 90's. I know ALL about indoor PB. If you have questions, email me as I can help you out for sure.

I don't play anymore, but I ref'd for many years and many tourneys. We actually developed our own brand of paint that is still on the market today some 10 + years later. Platinum series.
