Keep your eye on the needle.

Always know where you are in relation to the Stratosphere....you can see from ALMOST anyplace in town...

Your type of directions are typical of every westerner I know....go down the paved road til you see Joe Browns cow n turn left.

I will be staying with relatives, I asked which library was closest & I was told flamingo or west lv. So I guess that means they live on the west side of town???

Do I need a permanent address to get my NV drivers license?? Will I need the license to be considered for employment? I planned to just use my Ohio license until it expired.

I will certainly check out the JobConnect sounds like a good place to start. I will be there Sat-Sat so my plan was to job hunt really hard Sat-Wed and look for a place the rest of the time. I'm really hoping to find a job first based on the suggestions that you should live near your job. However I'm not leaving without a place because I'm moving July 7th.

I will be getting a rental for the week and this should be "fun". lol I say that because my sense of direction SUCKS and I will be the first to admit it!! lol I am not a turn north on xyz go 3 miles then go south on xyz type person. I'm a go up the street and when you see Del Taco make a left go down that street and turn right at the Dollar store, if you get to Burger King you've gone too far type person!! ha ha ha
not certain on the location...seems like Flamingo and West LV Libraries are pretty far apart and would have West Charleston in between.....

You DO need a "permanent" address so use your relatives and when you get settled go online and change it [I THINK that's one of the things you can do online]

That's funny, I just saw a report that the new CityCenter will be hiring 100,000 positions starting in 2009. Yes, that is correct. 100,000

Don't believe me? Look here: Las Vegas Now | Video Clips

Not to mention the multitude of other ventures/properties/planned etc. that are opening up all over Las Vegas.

No Jobs? Really now? Funny how you have yet to answer anyone on this board about what type of industry you are looking in, since you claim there are no jobs available to you. But yet all you do on every single thread is spew your bull**** accusations of how there are supposedly "no jobs in vegas"

Do us all a favor. Move.

Seriously. They don't even have all the jobs posted on their career website yet, and I see plenty of opportunities for people in any field of work. It boggles my mind that people can't seem to see outside of the box, and constantly limit themselves to one thing, and then b**ch and moan that they are not successful

a$$e$ indeed, LOL! And you are right. People like that probably still won't have a job.

If you are renting a car they will also rent you a GPS navigator which will be worth the cost in time saved getting lost. They talk you through every turn and make it much easier to find your way. The cost will be $11 or $12 a day to rent probably, so it might be wise to just go buy one since you'll need it later anyway. I bought my Garmin at WalMart for $180.00. Saw another brand on sale yesterday at Costco for less.

Are they removable?? A while back I saw a WHOLE lot of stories about people stealing them out of cars.

They are removable. My friend uses it in his car on the weekends and in the company truck during the week. Always takes it out when the car or truck is sitting for awhile in one spot.

Yes, they are a very hot item right now for thieves. I told a rent a car agency I didn't want to be responsible for one and they just told me to hide it under the seat. You don't want to leave them in plain sight. They just plug into the cigarette lighter and stick to the windshield by suction which never works very well. You can just stand them in a cup holder or something, and you can take them with you when you go inside. They are very simple to use and well worth it to buy your own. A weeks rent would just about pay for one. You don't need the expensive ones. They have more features like traffic reports and the voice calls every street you come to, but that would drive me crazy. And I doubt the traffic reports are up to date anyway.
