My shop and I are relocating to Las Vegas for my job. This will only be for a year and my employer is paying for housing. They have two corporate rentals for me to choose from. One is near the office off Sunridge Heights and Sandy Ridge and the other is in Lake Las Vegas. We were in town last wheeling getting the lay of the land. While the place near Sunridge Heights and Sandy Height was right by my office, which is great, neither of us liked the lol and feel of the area. Eastern was so congested that it took us over 15 minute to get to I-215. The whole strip of Eastern just felt very cheap and junky. Next we went to Lake Las Vegas. It was love at first sight. We loved how quiet and upscale it felt. The village was disappointing with all the closed stores, but we’re homebody’s anyway. Once we got home I looked up the crime statistics and the area around the Sunridge Heights house has a lot more crime than Lake Las Vegas. I grew up in inner city Atlanta so I’m used to crime, but want to stay away from it if I can. My only worry is how bad traffic will be getting to south Henderson will be in the morning since we only drove it on the weekend.

Not worth the commute. Plus, Lake Las Vegas sits in the hottest portion of the valley.

Fortunately we’re renting and my employer is paying the rent so HOAs are not a concern.

Lake Las Vegas is nice, but sort of out in the middle of nowhere.

If you live on Sunridge Heights, you can avoid the Eastern corridor and its traffic if you need to, but it's shopping an amenities are available if you want them.

A lot of people don't realize it, but Lake Las Vegas sits up against the border of the State of Arizona and a lot of the homes have views of the mountains in Arizona across Lake Mead, which should tell you how isolated it is from the rest of the Las Vegas valley.

I live near Sunridge Heights and Seven Hills. I love the location. Close to everything and lots of restaurants.

Lake Las Vegas is way the heck out there. I looked at houses in Heritage at Cadence and it was too far east IMO. Lake Las Vegas is another six miles from there. The drive on Lake Mead is not pretty.
