I'm actually just browsing the LV forum because we have a vacation credit and everyone tells us we HAVE to see Vegas at least once in our lives. It looks like a beautiful place, but alas~I don't think we'd fit in there as far as actually living there. We've always lived in the same area~upper Midwest/High Plains, BUT we are really thinking that it'd be a neat place to visit.
Do come. Leave some money. It is a most interesting place. And no I was not kidding about the age. I would be out at twice that. But these "in" places are into a youth culture rage. It will, in time, run its course and something else will be in...but for now...youth.
I enjoy the shows...including some of the locals like Danny Gans and Rita Rudner and all the Cirque shows. And you can hit the outlying stuff too...Red Rock, Valley of the Fire, Zion, Grand Canyon...
Great food...in the class of NY and LA. Nice most anytime. I prefer it in the late spring to early fall. But I enjoy heat.
