I remember real banana splits; scoop of chocolate, scoop of strawberry, scoop of vanilla, bananas along the side, (hot) fudge syrup, strawberry syrup, pineapple syrup, whipped cream, nuts, cheery on top (with seed + stem). Sometimes they'd try to sluff off marshmallow sauce of somesuch - just say no.

I don't eat ice cream anymore, but if I did, I'd try Calamity Jane's at Sam's Town. And it would be a banana split!

The reason I mentioned over 40 is because I'm sure people over 40 remember the days when ice cream was more flavorful. Kind of like back in the day when a whopper was a two fisted burger from burger kind...To really hit home when A&W Root beer was root beer.

Today most everything is a watered down version of most everything...

Baskin Robbins makes some decent banana splits, and you have your choice of a wide variety of ice cream flavors.

Hard to get the real deal these days. I would just go to your nearest Baskin Robbins or Thriftys and hope for the best.
