I realize that there are age restrictions for gambling/cocktail jobs, but what about other jobs in a casino? Are any of them offered to 19 and 20 year olds? Isn't one allowed to -serve- alcohol after age 18?

Are there any hostess jobs on the Strip that might be offered? Or hotel administration, etc.? What about the Forum shops?

While I was living in Reno my then 17 yr old son worked in a casino's fun center and my then 19 yr old daughter was a hostess in a casino cafe. My son loved his job. My daughter hated hers.

From my research you got to be 21 to serve alcohol or work in the gambling section of the casinos. You can work any of the hotel positions as long as they have nothing to do with gaming or alcohol if you are under 21. You can work in the shops as long as they don't sell alcohol. Administration, housekeeping, host, greeter, front desk, valet are all available to those under 21.

You have to be 21 to work in the gambling areas or serve alcohol.

People under the age of 21 can valet, hostess at restaurants, work at the front desk, or even lifeguard.

Gotta be 21. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Gaming laws are pretty much this, "the only legal minor is a moving minor."

Many of the casinos will no longer hire under 21. Insurance premiums are too high. I think lifeguard may be the only exception. And a hostess at a restaurant needs a TAM card and you cannot get one without being 21. Any PROPERTY that serves alcohol requires all of it's employees to have TAM cards. The Front Desk agents have TAM cards too.

HOwever you can do armed security at 18. Can't work in a Casino but can work in other kinds of stores and such. Pays reasonably well...

While it's not required by law. Most casinos require the slot staff and table game managers to have TAM cards to help monitor the patrons drinking.
