2900 is 241 a month.
That's a budget car payment.
483 large Starbucks coffees.
58 good steak dinners.
23,000 miles of driving.
Almost 3 months rent.
A good dslr.
A high end guitar.
4 new phones.
29 months of a typical phone bill
64 months of my phone bill.

2900 is a lot of money to be giving away to an incompetent government.
When you factor in all the other taxes you face in commiefornia, that 2900 quickly turns into double or triple. Like the plastic bag tax. Gas tax. Sales tax.

I think you missed my post about the deduction for sales tax in states that don't have income tax, you might want to go back and look at that. And I'm not sure what all these 'other taxes' are. I live in Sacramento County and the sales tax rate is 7.75%, in Clark County NV the sales tax rate is 8.25%. I've lived in both Nevada and California, I'm familiar with taxation in both states. There are good and bad reasons to live in either state, but I don't think that most middle income California families will flock to Las Vegas because they can no longer deduct property tax.
PS wages are lower in Nevada. In Nevada the median hourly wage is $16.59, in California it is $19.67.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks this will lead to a mass migration really isn't thinking like the average person. Few people ever think of things as one dollar amount versus another. The few who do think the others are crazy not to. But this is the real world where people don't like to move unless necessary or because they see other factors than money being worth the move. Moves for taxes only are mostly for multi millionaires

I would think however you live better in NV due to the lower cost of living.. NV 105.3. CA 145.6.So 16.59 is about 15% better than the CA median. And then you pick up a few more dollars on the income tax.

It might depend on what part of Nevada you live in too, we lived in Reno and our utility bill was absolutely awful, we averaged around $350 a month over a 12 month period. In California we average $70, and in Washoe county there is the extra 35 cent per gallon gas tax.

That is pretty much all covered in the state cost of living. My utilities in So CA. 20 years go ran an average of almost $200 per month. Here it is around $325. Though we could chop off a $100 by upgrading our air system.
