I've ridden the trails with no problems, many have pedestrian/bike overpasses where they intersect with busy streets. And yes, I do ride on sidewalks when there are no bike lanes. BUT!!! be aware that most drivers have no sense of anything on the road but other cars or trucks. There are a lot of accidents between cars and motorcycles and cars and bikes. And many people will not stop at crosswalks even if you are already walking/riding in it. A bike helmet is a must in this town!

I ride my bike in Summerlin, though not when it's 100 degrees. I haven't had any problems with cars and most of the roads have dedicated bike lanes. Sometimes I'll do the 215 bike path (good views but no shade at all). Also, the ride from Summerlin out to Red Rock (either just the entrance or the overlook or all the way to Blue Diamond) is always fun. I'd like to find a biking group for just casual, medium length rides (about 20 - 30 miles).

I love this trail! I ran a half marathon there a few years ago and remember a series of hills called the "Three Sisters". Hardest race I've even done. I wish I lived closer to it because it's a hike from Aliante.
