When I lived in the Oklahoma City area, they had a team in the Central Hockey League. The San Antonio team in the same league was called the Iguanas. Their colors were purple and orange.

I was partial to the name Scorpions as well. It seemed from the beginning that the owner was determined to have something with "knights" in the name.

You are correct. The owner mentioned on tv that the Knights name was meaningful to him.

He really wanted Black Knights, since he is a graduate of West Point. That name had copyright issues, including its association with the United States Military Academy.

Most people know that you're talking about Las Vegas, NV, but there is a Las Vegas, NM.

Since this is in the Nevada forum, it shouldn't require any explanation.

I have been a Dallas Stars fan for years. Of course, now that we have our own team, they play their first regular season game against...the Dallas Stars.

I'm originally from Boston, so I was super excited to see they're playing the Bruins in October, but why are the tickets so damn expensive?

Amazing how that happens when some will tell you no one cares about hockey and that Las Vegas is a disaster waiting to happen for the NHL.

Any ticket prices you've seen are after-market mark ups. Single game seats don't go on sale until Monday August 14th. If you're a local single game seats go on sale at noon PDT. If you're not, then it's 2 PM.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that!

Anyone wanna help a Hockey n00b? So I'm a huge sports fan and watch the Yankees literally almost every day. I follow the 49ers and Blazers for NFL and NBA. I'm thinking of getting the hockey package just for the Golden Knights because even if they suck I can finally learn about hockey while rooting for the team of my future city. So I'm adopting the Knights as my team. I used to watch playoff hockey and followed the Avs 10+ years ago but I never really got into the sport.

Where do I start learning about it or not being a n00b so I can really know my stuff in another few years?
