Depending on the apartment complex its self some are very safe some are terrible it depends on how much you want to spend . places that do stringent credit our criminal checks usually ferret out the scum. lvkewlkid don't generalize all people who live in apts that isn't fair . A good chunk of of the people in las Vegas who recently took out mortgages wont get back what the paid for because their houses shrunk in value.

89109 is the worst zip code! Most crime ridden. That area where you live, I only lasted there 6 weeks years ago. It was awful!! I was renting a condo and someone tried to break in while I was looking out the window at them; a guy got shot and pretty much died on Maryland Parkway on the other side of the brick wall where my condo was. I felt the problem was cheap/low rent, which attracts the undesirables, drug dealers, alcoholics, crime, etc. MOVE OUTTA THERE!!
