I'm moving to Vegas soon, and have read on lots of threads that the tap water tastes bad and is often cloudy, along with not being healthy to drink. That being said, do y'all give your dogs and cats the water from the tap? I always have in other places I've lived, but am worried now after what I've read. Thanks!

Pretty much all silliness. It may taste a bit off because it is hard and treated. But this is the major water supply for much of the SW and we get it before anyone else. And if you get any cloudiness or color that is likely local. The water coming into the system is quite pure and safe.

We are on a well and get all sorts of gunk when we replace a pump or such. Goes away after a couple of hours as things settle back down. The water has some sand in it but that pretty much settles out.

I like the taste myself though it is very hard. We have been given it to dogs and cats for 20 years with normal life expectancy . Present senior cat is 17 and suffers only from arthritis. One client's cat in Sun City was still going at 22 when we lost touch.

My 17 year old German Shorthaired Pointer hasn't complained at all. And she has already exceeded average life expectancy by almost 10 years.

Most houses have water softeners built in...at least everyone we looked at did. We have both softener and reverse osmosis in the kitchen. Love the taste of the water.

Our dogs are only given water from the reverse osmosis tap. I would never give them what I wouldn't drink myself

They (dog and cat) drink what we drink, so no.

The water in some areas gets cloudy at times when they are mixing in water from the storage wells on the Northwest side of centralish Las Vegas. I've only noticed it sometimes in the spring/summer and around major holidays. If people report the water is never cloudy than they likely don't work/live near a city well.

I've had cloudy tap water here. It was when I lived on S. Las Vegas Blvd near the Southpoint (Well before Southpoint existed)
