Half of all my bills I pay online and the other half I pay using an app on my phone. All my banking is electronic to. I'm also in my 30s so maybe it's a generational thing. My Dad still deposits checks INSIDE the bank. He won't even use the ATM outside the bank or get direct deposit. I tell him he can now simply use the bank's app on his phone to take a photo of the check and have it instantly deposited into his account without leaving his couch but he won't even try it.
Haha I always forget how young some people on this forum are. Facts are, lots of people use USPS for many different things. Wi-fi is not available in every corner of the US, astounding as it may seem to someone who uses it for everything. We do pay most bills online or set up auto payments; nowadays you can get your tax info online too. But we still send the odd letter and package, too.

If you have friends or other dealings outside the US, you might get a letter once in awhile. Does no one ever send you a Valentine? Or a birthday present?

At any rate, it is nice to have the USPS, which of course was designed for another way of life and will eventually morph into something else - most all business do that are more than 100 years old.

Just to close this off, I went to the bank today to see what happened.

The thieves had done 2 deposit transactions totalling a few cents. Then a debt taking it back.

A few days later they stole $500. The amazing thing is that all of these transactions happened AFTER we'd informed the bank and they'd put restrictions on the account...
