I just got this news alert from Channel 3

Metro Police, on a tip from Homeland Security, is investigating a substace found at a hotel/motel near Valley View and Flamingo. It is said to be a white substance. Watch News 3 Nightside at 11 for the latest.

Logon to News 3 Las Vegas Home Page for the latest news reports around the valley.

Criminal probe launched in Vegas poison discovery - CNN.com

here is some of what the article said:

(CNN) -- Police in Las Vegas, Nevada, are investigating the discovery of what they said is the deadly poison ricin in a hotel room.

No one has shown symptoms of ricin poisoning after the toxin was found Thursday at a Las Vegas, Nevada, hotel.

Do a google search for "ricin in Vegas" a lot of stories about this, and not just the incident from yesterday.

Yeah, you'd think they had to know. But the guy was taken to the hospital 2 weeks ago for breathing problems. That's all they knew at that time ...no ricin suspected at that time. It was a relative or a friend who found the ricin yesterday in the guy's room while he was cleaning it out. The guy was in the process of being evicted for non-payment because he's in the hospital. There were even dogs in the room.

They just finished a new conference with Metro a few minutes ago.
